Step Two is a step of hope, faith and realization. It is a big step towards God or your Higher Power. In spite of all of the failures in our own lives - all of the broken promises, hard feelings, disappointments, failures, destructive behavior, hatred, anxiety, depression or guilt in our lives - there is still hope. There is hope because there is a Power greater than ourselves. And this Power has the ability to restore our lives to a life where there is freedom from the insanity of addictive behaviors.

For most addicts our addictive sexual behavior increased our loneliness and insecurity, damaged our self-worth, estranged us from our spiritual nature, and often resulted in emotional trauma. We often neglected our responsibilities and put off doing things that we didn’t want to face. Our disease left us with little time, energy, or money for anything else. No matter how many promises or resolutions we made, no matter how strong our efforts and our determination, the behaviors eventually returned, along with their painful consequences. Join us as we talk about our First Step and how in taking the First Step, we admit that our addiction was destroying us, and that we were unable to stop it.

Anyone who is moving along the journey of recovery from an addiction could be a sponsee. Sometimes, a sponsee is new to sobriety and the 12-Steps and needs a little guidance from a mentor in order to understand the challenges and expectations of the recovery process. While the entire 12-Step group claims responsibility for helping keep its members on a path towards recovery and continued sobriety, sponsor/sponsee relationships can be extra resources, help, and comfort for those who believe they need it. Join us while we discuss the importance of this relationship.
