We have all heard the phrase “willing and ready.” It’s used to describe someone who is both compelled to do something and properly equipped to see it through. The process starts when a person who is struggling with addiction admits that there is a problem. It also requires a willingness on his or her part to get sober, as well as consistent, committed action. They have accepted that they have a problem. They have experienced pain and consequences, and as a result, they have a sincere desire for something different for their lives.

Three Circles

Ultimately, our definition of sobriety is our own, but if we define our own program of recovery in isolation, our self-made programs may deceive us, becoming too loose or too restrictive.
Most of us have no desire to stop being sexual altogether. It is not sex, in and of itself, that causes us problems, but the addiction to certain sexual behaviors. We have found that it is necessary for each member to define his or her own abstinence.
To help us define our sexual sobriety, many of us use a tool developed within SAA called The Three Circles. Learn more about this wonderful recovery tool.

Honesty
Saturday Oct 03, 2020
Saturday Oct 03, 2020
Why is honesty so important in recovery? This is the major problem with individuals who are active in their addiction. Often as addicts we lie, starting with lies to ourselves, and then we start lying to others. However, when we start to tell one lie to cover our tracks, then we often finds ourselves telling another lie to cover all all the lies we have told.
We have learned that honesty is the best policy and as long as we are willing to be truthful when it comes to our recovery, then we find that we do not have to work to cover up the lies because there are no lies to worry about. You will be amazed with how far this will take you in the journey of recovery and in your life.
